As per the heading, anyone used em? Recommend / stay away?

Thinking of buying the steel wheel and tyre combo.

Anyone have good or bad to say about em?

    Thanks

Is there much of a saving over sourcing used steel rims from a scrap yard and just buying the tyres? BTW I always found camskill.co.uk cheaper for tyres and faster delivery.

No complaints with eiretyres myself, always compare the same ones and they are always more on camskill

Make sure you make order using Irish credit card from Irish IP address, otherwise their security will cause issue. I buy tyres from them for about 6 years, and apart from security problem no issues.

Never had any reason to buy from them or camskill, always found the same tyres cheaper from a local supplier.

It really depends on the tyre, when I was buying toyos I was saving €70-100 including fitting/balancing

I personally have used Camskill over them quite recently as their price was quite a bit less than Eiretyres for the tyres I wanted.

But they're a reputable supplier so I wouldn't have any hesitation on using them if they come out the cheapest for what you want.

I have 5 sets of tyres bought from them and 1 from Camskill.
Eiretyres have a good range of tyres, you can buy makes that aren't common in the UK/Irish market easily.

Are there ever any issues with getting them fitted, or disposing of the old tyres?

Yeah, that's why I have used them in the past; the selection.

Not for me anyway, I paid 20 for 4 fitted and 2 balanced including disposal.

I've used both Camskill and Eiretyres more than once; Eiretyres stock comes from Germany, meaning delivery in each case took about 10 days. Camskill comes from the UK and delivery to me took 2-3 days each time. Pricewise they were very close.
By all means price check against a local supplier, just don't accept it if the guy tries to compare your Contis with a set of LingLing MaxxxiSafe SuperHapppyTyreCo.

Use eiretyres once. Used Camskill many times. Eiretyres take an age to arrive.
There was also a massive thread here where Eiretyres were far from helpful when tyres were returned after an unexplained blowout.

Well, I have exactly opposite experience. :P

Tyres usually arrived approx. 5 days after order placed.

And didn't have any problem whatsoever when made a complaint - faulty Goodyear Eagle F1 tyre (improperly vulcanized rubber) - complaint filled, courier arrived to bring new and take the faulty tyre (I've been asked before if I want a replacement or refund - chose replacement), after 2 weeks got an email that complaint has been decided in my favor.
