Broken glass

    Its everywhere you go.....broken glass...

    Years ago you didnt see much of it..

    Because years ago all glass bottles were returnable for a deposit ( i think i remember it being 10p in the 80s)

    Why did we move from the system of glass being returnable. I know we recycle now, but surely the amount of energy used to drop bottles to recycling bank, pick them up in truck and melt them down to make more glass things makes this a lot worse than reusing what we already have.

    Before you even start to talk about the clean up costs of broken glass and claims like the above....:confused:
