Honestly though, I'm not sure the operator themselves would know that answer right now.

Last year there was a late night luas on the green line only so not sure if they'll do it this year and if they do it might be only the green line.

Green line only again this year.

Why Green Line only?if it's for anti-social behaviour reasons surely the onus is on Veolia to hire extra security staff rather then to just admit defeat and leave the whole Red Line without late night Christmas services.

Last year it was Green Line only.

The accountants have probably worked out it's cheaper to close the red line than hire extra security.

Considering the security people on the red line trains seem to go around in threes, you don't need to be an accountant to figure that out.

I was on a red line travelling outbound through Lr. Abbey St., saw beggars harassing tourists at the ticket machine at the Jervis St. stop but not one of the three security lads onboard got off the train to sort them out.

Wouldn't they then have left the tram insecure?

It was an afternoon train and to my knowledge there aren't multiple security people on every train so I don't know where you're getting the 'insecure' bit, it's not like we're talking about cash in transit.
