Special Needs Bicycle Trailer wanted

    Hi

I have a 4 year old boy with cerebral Palsy, he likes to get out and about and this summer I modified a Giant Bike trailer to take him on bike rides, over the summer he has grown and is now cramped inside it, I have fitted a seat in it to support him.

I am looking for a bigger trailer or one for special needs kids like this one http://www.wicycle.com/special_needs_large_bicycle_trailer.php

Anyone looked into a trailer like this before? the shipping is too much to bring it in hoping that it will be right, I would have to be able to sit my son into any trailer before buying, any ideas?

    Thanks

I'm afraid I can't help here but just wanted to say it might be useful for any advice that does come through to be stickied or maintained somewhere easily searchable here.

I had a look on a french forum and I found this. It looks like they have modified cargo bikes rather than trailers.

I wonder if somewhere like rothar could make you something suitable.

I saw something on Russell Howard's Good News about a boy in America who had a brother with cerebral palsy. I'm pretty certain that he had a contraption attached to the back of his own bike so that they could do races together. It was in the bit at the end of the show where they do the good news story.

Maybe try to look that up to see what it looks like?

Hey all and thanks for the replies so far, if that video is the one i am thinking of it is amazing, The main issues with the suggestions are our climate, it would have to be a covered in trailer to maintain heat, we want to use it all year round as we have plenty of cycle tracks where we live.
I will look into the suggestions so far and report back, Thanks again
