Part-time redundancy and other stuff

    Hello there,

can someone please clarify a few things please?

    1. If a business shuts down for a couple of weeks over Xmas (I know...strange!) is a part-time employee entitled to be paid?

    2. In the case of redundancy for a part-time employee, they must be working continuously for 2 years. Does working say 5 hours a week qualify as working continuously?

    3. For each year they have worked, is redundancy calculated based on their current pay or the pay given in a particular year? Also is it calculated based on hours worked or a weekly rate?

    Thanks in advance

Part time employees are entitled to annual leave like anyone else. If you haven't used your leave entitlement up, then you'd be entitled to paid leave. If you have used it, then you may have to take unpaid.

I believe that the 2 year rule applies no matter how many hours you work.

I'm not well-enough educated to advise re the rate. But various other posts are ... hopefully one of them will post soon for you.
