Job Offer

Just wondering what to do, I have been trying to move to Cork for a year now so just when I was sure it was a lost cause, I got 2 interviews in Cork (one contract role for 6 months and one permanent role). These are both accounting roles.

I received the offer for the 6 month role but I felt very confident after the permanent role interview so I would like to know the outcome of that. Its hard to know whether to take the contract role and risk being unemployed after 6 months or wait for the outcome of the perm role. I know the contract role is hiring immediately so I don't want to stall the process for them and blacklist myself. I have a perm role in Dublin at the mo so if I don't take the first job, i wont be out of work.

I'd just be honest with the permanent role company. Tell them that you have been offered another role in Cork and don't want to mess them around as they are your preferred choice.

Could you not just take the contract role and if you get a call about other job, take that and leave it. Not the most mannerly thing to do but its dog eat dog out there.

I agree with this. Give them a ring now!

There is another interview to go for the permanent role and I only did the interview yesterday so i dont want to rush the process and come across pushy.
