Hi lads ,want to pick your brains. A convoy of approx 10 German cars passed me today in Kerry led by a black Porsche 911 with a white bonnet. The rest of the convoy were Audi and other makes but all with German plates and extra aerials. These seem to pass once or twice a year.Any ideas or has anybody else seen them.

Oh I do hope it's a German invasion :pac:

I know that Porsche use certain roads in Ireland (around Sligo I think) to test their cars' handling and don't VAG own Porsche now? That might explain the other cars behind the Porsche.

Might just have been a German car club, they regually go in convoy when they meetup, I done the same thing in my FTO club.

Yep. More specifically, it's to test how they handle on those roads in the rain. :)

Well I've seen them testing on the dual carriageway in Sligo so not completely sure about that. They use the N16 between Sligo town and Blacklion Co. Cavan a fair bit. The surface is pretty decent, many of the bends are banked and it's a road that would expose any flaws in the handling of your car.

Porsche have been using the West and NW for a few years now. The most recent Boxster and 911 being one, but also the Panamera - my S.O. met them when they were driving disguised Panameras in Oranmore a few years ago.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
