M4 problems

    Hi Lads looking for help with this problem.Changed the grip on my M4 for a pistol one the rifle has been serviced by a retailer but is now noisey and the seletor only fires on full auto any advice Thanks in advance

    Did you change the pistol grip yourself or was it done by the retailer

    Does the selector operate properly in the safe position

    Changed it myself no problem 2 connectors an 2 screws.The selector works fine in the safe pisition.semi is also safe.

    did you try fire it in auto then switch back to semi?

    if you get stuck feel free to drop it over and ill have a look.

    yes i even used the motor that was in the grip origionaly

    Noise comes from the bevel gear and the pinion gear not meshing correctly. This can occur for many reasons, but one of the most common is that v2 gearboxes do not use a motor cage, and the free-float design in the pistol grip sucks. Many of the grips are not properly aligned and do not allow the pinion to seat precisely where it should be on the bevel gear.

    There are modifications you can do, but it is a little intensive. Personally I'd just ask yourself is the new grip worth it, and if it is, then I'd look into getting the motor angle corrected.

    I tried to dig up the post on Airsoft Mechanics...but couldn't find it :(
