I was in the Jervis centre today and noticed Fields have a window full of discounted watches including Seikos and Tissots , well worth a look....

Are you sure you want an all black watch, they look good on websites but not so great on my wrist! I'd recommend the new seiko solar chronographs.

I am in cork so, Dublin isn't a goer for me . For a watch of that value it might not be worth the trip

The Seiko orange monsters are tempting too :D

how do you guys find the prices in shops in Ireland , I might stop by a few shops in the next few weeks ? is there generally a big price difference ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 267 ✭✭93Cab

The Orange Monsters are not available in shops in Ireland. I only got interested in watches lately after following a thread on a Forum called UK Saabs( hence the user name) which lead me to a 35 page thread on Pistonheads called I want a Monster. So I went onto Creations website and the Orange was out of stock, bought the Black, scratched the face, ordered a Sapphire crystal from Yobokies, decided to order a custom face and hands, and now I'm hooked! I still want an OM but they have gone up from €155 on Creation to €200 as its now a J model instead of a K. There is also a new model which I dont like in the OM but love in the BM. But now you guys have got me looking at Steinhart 44's! And thats the last time I'll post just back from the pub! Check Creation!

If looking on creation watches register for their mails as they send out discount codes from time to time

e.g got this additional 6% discount a few hours ago for the watched linked to below

Enter code CTZRD in the "Comments/Instructions/Codes (Optional):" section while checking out for discount. (Use standard checkout and not PayPal Express Checkout)

    Sold out again!

Argg! Had all but pulled the trigger on it this morning but didn't have time to do the order. Any where else to buy Monsterwatches.eu seems the best price but from reading here can be slow to reply?

£153 on rubber from amazon.co.uk + another £40 for the steel bracelet doesn't seem to bad. Just over €230 and I would have two straps.

Or Ebay for just under €220

Still on Creation with rubber strap for €151! RK Watchouse are a good bit cheaper if you go onto their non Ebay website, they have the BM for £150 as against £163 on Ebay, postage is cheaper too. They have no OM's in stock at the moment, but a phone call might get them to sell one of their last two Ebay ones!

Thinking it's worth paying the extra 30 for amazon though will cost at least that if I'm stung for customs.

Some of those Amazon sellers are in the Far East anyway. Cheapest UK seller I can see on Amazon is £186!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,516 ✭✭✭Outkast_IRE

Ok guys think I will go for black monster or Orange monster with steel bracelet.

Now for a question...... whats the story with warranty is there something I should be looking at with the seller to ensure its all legit etc. #

the watch im looking at is Seiko SKX781K Orange Monster
    or
Seiko Mens 200m "Black Monster" Divers With Steel Bracelet SKX779k

if anyone see them at a good price etc feel free to post.

The cheapest BM that I'm aware of other than Creation is RK Watchouse (nonEbay) at €196 inc postage with full warranty (steel bracelet). The cheapest OM in UK is again RK on Ebay! Believe me I check the OM prices on an almost daily basis!

Any idea how much customs would be on this if you got caught for it ?

Has anyone used this site before ?

Overall rating is good on Bizrate , any opinions welcomed.

I recently paid $90 customs on a declared value of $350, so it is a good percentage and may effect where you purchase it from. The customs charge is not only based on the cost of the item, they also include the price that you paid for shipping in their calculation.

On every occasion when FedEx has been the shipping agent I have always received a bill for customs charges, on the other hand I have never had to pay when USPS or EMS shipped the watch.

They should change the name of the OM to the Scarlet Pimpernel! I check Creation every day, it's been in and out of stock about five times inthe last two months. I'm sure it will be back in stock in the next few weeks!

Are you only looking at new Seikos, or would a second hand one in good condition do the trick?

Preferably new. But if something came up at the right price and condition it would be considered.

Just ordered mine as well! I think I'm going to pull the Yobokies dial and put my original BM dial back on so I have a contrasting pair! The red blood monster dial has appalling lume!

My Orange Monster arrived today too.
    It looks and feels great.
Now to get the bracelet adjusted. Will have to try to get to a
Jewellers tomorrow as I don't think I could do it myself.
The bracelet uses collar and pin so if u lose a collar when taking
Out the pin you are in trouble.
Here's a tuturial if u wanted to do yourself
