There has been a marked improvement in the levels of litter around Elm Park, MG etc.... way lower than at any point in the past. I spent plenty of time bitching here last year, so I suppose its only fair to make a positive comment. Are people finally taking pride in the areas where they live?

    :):):):):):)

The seating area outside the SU spar was disgracful around 5. All the tables were left covered in rubbish and so was the ground around it.. Was still the same mess last night at 12.

The tables should have to clean it up!!. Sure they think its a right laugh, they let people sit on them all day and listen to all the gossip.they sit there all day leaving the rubbish accumulate around them without even picking it up. Dunno how they have been getting away with it for so long. Do you think it's the tables throwing the rubbish even?

Jester, you come up with some real classics!
Of course the spar staff should clean up the vicinity immediately outside the shop. Isn't that what happens with other outlets?

I don't think that's very fair. Any shop owner will ensure the front of their shop is kept tidy to project a good image . Whether they technically own the benches or not they're seen as Spar benches. Anyway, if half the students were smart enough to clean up their own rubbish we'd all be better off.

By far the worst example on campus is the common room. Full of slobs who think it's grand to dump their stuff on the tables and on the other hand when people are trying to be clean the bins get full in no time.

But AFAIK the shop doesn't own the tables. So why should it be their responsibility to clean them. Other outlets own the tables so of course they clean them. Why would you look after something that can/has been removed by another group of people.

Well how many shop owner have you see cleaning street outside. They will clean the the outside of the shop, as in the windows, but they would never clean the street and as you said people should be littering in the first place maybe if college student had any manners what so ever and pulled their head out of their ass for five minutes the campus would be a nicer place but that for another rant

The feckers decided to leave their roll wrappers on the table, near the entrance to the shop, right next to the bin.

Filth the lot of them. Not the tables tho :-)
