    Kinda funky alright.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

    30,000 = 750 euro approx.

    I quite like this.

    Thanks Bullseye,

I prefer the speedster, I tried to get it as far as checkout but can't manage it, have you taken it that far.

In your opinion what sort of quality is this watch?

Am on the lookout for another watch in the couple of hundred euro range and liked the look of the Speedster (€750 might be a bit steep though)

Denissov is another spinoff of the old 1st Moscow watch factory (Poljot).

They use Poljot/Maktime movements in their chronos, so all of them are handwinds and at that a bit expensive, IMO.

As one of them is may grail, I've done quite some research on them and everybody that has bought one is very happy with the quality and the price.

    Thanks Peasant,

Novice question, do you mean by "handwinds" that they need to be wound every day and that movement will not automatically wind the watch?

I have an interest in watches but still know feck all about their workings.

Yepp, that's exactly what I mean.
Poljot never made an automatic chrono movement.

Not that there is anything fundamentally wrong with handwinding your watch, but when it's combined with a screw-down crown (like with the Speedsted for example) it's a bit of a nuisance.

And when you take into consideration that 800 - 1000 Euro buys you an automatic chronograph (Valjoux 7750 or variants thereof) from better known (and therfore easier re-sellable) brands, the Denissovs look just that little bit overpriced.

    Thanks again Peasant,

I think I'll give it a skip and keep looking.

I'm gonna google a "screw down crown" rather than ask another novice question here!

A screw down crown screws into the casing of the watch to give a better seal and higher water resistance :D

That's all well and good, if you don't have to use it twice a day like with a handwind movement ...screwing down the crown can be fiddly and the danger is that sooner or later you mis-thread it (damaging the crown or worse the case) and/or wear out the seals.
