So I am after an energy monitor system that will be able to connect to the ESB meter and also be able to monitor more devices through wifi and display on a web page the usage real time. (I have my own webservers so subscriptions wouldn't be something that I would be willing to pay)

I 've searched the forum and I 've came across the following brands and products:
Any suggestions for another product maybe? What are you guys using and how happy are you with it?

I'm interested in the same thing. What else are you planning to monitor. Good work on the links.

Have you checked out the Power Cost Monitor made my BlueLine Innovations inc. check them out at www.bluelineinnovations.com

I just started to work for them as the Marketing-Social Media Intern Specialist and I just set up my own PowerCost Monitor at home and the whole family is already involved with checking how much energy we are using and how much money is being spent. I am setting up the Wifi application this weekend and only suspect it to be just as positive with the family as the monitor itself already is.

I have a home server/nas/etc that I want to keep an eye on. Then I have the TV, home cinema and the last one on my pc to monitor utilization there. I might get one more for the fridge just to see if the temperature makes any difference and where is the sweet spot. We re probably talking about marginal gains, but thats why I want it :) So far the one that checks all my boxes seem to be the EnviR.

Thanks, you might want to check with the forum mods first. Does your unit support extra monitors?

I wasn't promoting the device from my position.... I just wanted to be very open that to I am fimiliar with the product because of my position... but I am also a new user. I feel my new user experience was what you might be looking for as a suggestion. I haven't tried the other products suggested, nor do I know much about them, however I do know with the PowerCost Monitor, that my family has already begin to change habits and I only set it up last weekend. This weekend I will be setting up the Wifi unit with it and will be able to see what how much each appliance is using in energy. It is simply a sensor that attaches to your home smart meter and it is read on a small monitor which sits on my kitchen window. It is read in real time and real money. It is not complicated at all. I am not a technical person but I was able to set mine up myself and am able to read it myself. I am now eager to see how I adapt to the wifi aspect of the product.

Thanks for that. Because I can't figure out from the website if external sources-monitors can be added (tv for example) for the unit to monitor directly, do you have any info on that?

What's your budget? Regardless of having your own web server a company who offer a hosted solution wouldn't be inclined to give you software.

Budget is around 200-300euro for the unit and the monitors. I am fine with using their software/servers as long as they are not any subscription fees. They are a few open source software available as well.

I don't think I am asking too much, most of the devices do what I need, I am just trying to find the best solution. Efergy looks like the best so far, but I ll have to wait until next Autumn for additional IAMS. I was just interested to hear feedback from people owning any of these devices.

Which product are you suggesting and how high do I have to go?

AstraMonti, did you ever sort this and if so which system did you go for? I'm currently looking at the emonTx as I can add loads more parameters to produce a fine detail graph...

Hi miller, I ended buying the efergy monitor. At the time it didn't have multiple sources but I think they are adding this now, haven't looked for a while. It works well and it's extremely simple to setup. If I had time to really dig into it though I would get the emonTx as the capabilities are way better.

For what I want to measure the emon total kit is coming in at £400 sterling!
