The "Muslims Banned Xmas in Brussels" story that never was.

Earlier on, the Iona Institute, a right-wing Catholic institution here helmed by Irish Independent journalist David Quinn, published an article based on a source "Brussels News" (no link) that, quote:

"Government officials in Brussels have banned a popular Christmas tree and nativity scene from the city’s main square due to fears that the city's Muslim population found it “offensive""

The article went on to detail that 25.5% of the population of the city is Muslim and that 2 pro-Sharia counsellors had been elected.

Brussels News actually has the Mayor stating the exact opposite:

So, the only change is from a real tree to an artificial electronic tree, by the sponsor which is an energy company.

Since then, the Iona Institute has re-written the article twice, presumably in an attempt to keep this non-story going.

It shows the Iona Institute in a bad light. Which should be remembered the next time Christians reference the Institute.

We worshiper of light we don't celebrate Christmas. We celebrate the victory of Light over Darkness. We worship a God who knew no hatred, no malice, never sought for revenge.
