    Anyone doing it this year?

I've never done it before but I'm gonna give it a lash this year.

Any tips from those that have previously done it.?

Its completely changed this year from the previous format, personally think they have made a ball of it and wont be bothering for hte first time in years.

General tips are to split your list between the various types, i.s 2m hurdlers, 2m chasers, Novice Chasers, 3m chaser etc. and avoid horses that will run against each other regualrly. You also need to target the bonus races and these have changed this year AFAIK.

With no monthly prizes, no festival prizes and no transfers, I'd say you should look to gettin a few others with you in a syndicate, nigh on impossible to scoop it single handed.

Totally agree with premierstone. The removal of the monthly prizes is a big drawback - I always felt I had a remote chance of hitting one of those. I had bought the book & skimmed through the rules & hadn't noticed the monthly's removed on my first read. With them gone, it looks daunting. Surely betfred could have ponied up the cash to keep the monthly prizes going.

I've been doing this for 7 yrs , chucking in 10 lines each yr for my sins.

    Not bothering this time around.

I have been doing this for 20 years and will not be doing it this year. Hate the idea of no monthly prizes or Cheltenham .

You need to be very aware that this stays open for a fortnight after the competition begins as well which is a massive change,(obviously you do not get the points scored before your entry), also placed horses score points based on their tote returns.

I also think this will be like the scoop 6 where the small man will be up against the syndicates with big perms as the price has dropped to a fiver an entry.

Real shame they have ruined this for me, at least in the past even if you had a slow start or picked a horse that got injured you felt you might have a crack at cheltenham with the reserve system, part of the fun was trying to pick horses to win the novice bonus races and finding a live one for the festval
