I was signed off work for 2 weeks. Sent off my certs and got a letter back saying I hadn't enough PRSI contributions(I only started working in Nov 2011). I'm also not entitled to anything from CWO.
Can they ot use my PRSI from 2012? I'm at a loss of 2 weeks wages now, is there nothing to do?

Most if not all short term benefit payments are based on 2010 stamp record if the claim is made this year.(you will also need a minimum of 104 stamps in total)Claims made next year will have 2011 as the qualifying year.

Next time, go to the CWO straight away, as they usually don't backdate payments.

If you worked abroad in 2010, you can sometimes use those stamps to qualify.

Were you a student in 2010?

Normally if you are deemed not qualified for IB then you take the letter to cwo and apply for supplementary welfare allowance. Did the cwo give a reason why you were not entitled to anything from them?

Was a sahm in 2010. as my husband works we are above the income limit for a supplementary welfare allowance.. so basically if i have any more pregnancy related issues i have to get over it cos i can't afford to lose any more wages. especially this close to xmas.

I thought that might be the case that there was another income coming into the house. Can I ask do you have other children as you may be entitled to family income supplement depending on your circumstances also in view of the fact that you did not qualify for IB you may not qualify for maternity benefit.
