Cab sound insulation

    I was wondering if I could use attic insulation to reduce some of the noise coming into the cab from the engine around the dash. There was foam there but it's gone all tatty

    I used 3 layers of that insulation that looks like chrome bubble wrap inside the engine and gearbox covers of my 101. Works well and is fireproof, engine gets very hot and it's been fine for 5 years now.

    Cheers. Where did you get that? The diesel tank is between the engine and where I want to insulate so it won't be getting that hot. It's just to reduce some of the noise that's coming back in to the cab

    Most DIY places will sell it. Also look at flashbanding, self adhesive lead substitute meant for roofing, lots of Land Rover owners use it as bulkhead sound proofing.
