Workin in a Toyota garage I never seen many opels and the 03 -->shape vectra always caught my eye as a nice car so I gonna get one but wanna know if any serious issues with them
Also they are going quite cheap in 1.6 version in 2005 shape and has me thinkin are they expensive to run and what main issues with them
Mate of mine said he had one on loan and it swallowed the juice
    Any advice?
    Buy or run away

You won't find much love for them here. The facelift version was nice enough on the outside but it was totally left down by the interior. The 1.6 is too small an engine for the weight of the vectra, I'd get the 1.8 myself. Running costs will be minimal and it will be higher specced if you get an Sri model.

They're just hideously boring inside and out and there are way nicer cars out there. But as far as bang for buck goes, you won't find much better.

Apart from coils they're fairly reliable. Wouldn't bother going for the 1.8 over the 1.6 as there is going to be minimal difference anyway and the 1.6 would be more common.

Some of the facelift SRI hatches are lovely looking, I think.

Edit: (Ignore the price, bit mad infairness)

Run away, it doesnt matter what it looks like, you have to sit inside it and drive it. You need reliability and value for money, this is not it.
