The 1st of July 2012, may go down as an important day in the history of Irish football...

Two years ago, to the date. A number of budding football coaches gathered together to discuss the idea of gathering some of the most talented players in Ireland, who had slipped through the the scouting net's of some of England's top clubs as well as that of many League of Ireland sides.

The scouting was carried out by these coaches over an 18 month period, after this period the plan was to select a panel of the best players and bring them to England to play a number of England's top academies. But this endeavor would need funding, after many unsuccessful attempts to secure financial support and the future of project in doubt...A savior was found...Boards.ie

So with a panel assembled, the group travailed to London for a 3 game schedule. Many of these games, were to be attending by some of the top scouts in English football. A 30 man panel was selected for the trip to Engalnd, with all 30 players getting game time in front of the scouts over the three games, most of the players really shune and were looked at further by many of the clubs.

Of the 30 man panel, 26 where signed by clubs, the remaining 4 players have been left without a club, but as they are still so young their dreams of making it as a professional footballer certainly aren’t over.

Just looking at my player's morale and it's "Okay". You got signed to the Chelsea underage squad and you're morale is okay? What more do you want??

    Typical selfish footballers... :pac:

As I've attribute masking on, I had to take charge of each team with a different manager in order to get the full profiles unmasked so that's why there is so many messages...

Don't worry before adding managers I saved the game and reloaded once I was finished gathering screen shots.

I won't be starting my save file until the second season anyways, as I attempt the dafuge challenge

Generation Boards players have been with there respective clubs for 1 year, and with a season under there belts here are there updated profiles, personal & stats correct as of end of season 2012/13.

Over the course of the season a number of players made their breakthrough onto the international scene with their respective nations.

Aaron Harrison was the first of Generation Boards to make their premiership debut in a 1-0 home defeat to Stoke, which was his only senior game of the season. Aaron Harrison wasn't the only player to make their senior debut.

Colin Ryan played 2 Championship games as well as an FA Cup game all coming off the bench.

Roger Sterling made his League 1 debut.

On the international front, many of the players made their breakthrough with their respective nations at underage level, but only Julian Harper went on to play competitive action in an U19 European Championship Qualifier against Portugal in a 3-1 victory. With all the others earning their underage caps in friendlies.

Another year in the books and another exciting year for Generation Boards, the update will include updated profiles, personal & stats as of the end of season 2013/14.

Over the course of this season a number of players made huge strides while others have went backwards, some much so a number of players are currently fighting for their futures are their current clubs.

    So at the end of their first season, there were only 3 players whom had made senor appearences for the their clubs;
    Aaron Harrison
    Colin Ryan
    Roger Sterling

At the end of their second season there were no new players added to that list, with only Roger Sterling making any senor appearances this season.

West Ham's Adam Doyle is the first player to win a medal, with the FA Youth Cup, coming off the bench in 1-0 victory over Manchester United.

    On the international scene, there were more a few more players making their bow at the competitive stage, playing in the Under 19's European Championship Qualifiers;
    Paudie Murphy
    Pablo Makavelli
    Eoin Naughton
    Max Alexander
    Aaron Harrison
    Gavin Delaney
    Padraig McNamara
    Paul Collins
All joined Julien Harper in playing competitive international football for the Irish Under 19's team.

Under 19's wasn't the only international action seen by Generation Boards. This season saw Eoin Naughton made his bow for the Irish Under 21's in a 2-0 victory over Malta. In an action packed debut were he scored and got sent off.

Well potentials were wide ranging, also all hidden attributes were totally random which is something that really affects the chances of reaching full potential.

It'd be no fun if we were all successful! Being realistic, it's only a tiny majority of players who play the game at the highest level.

1 reserve game as sub, and a bunch of U18 games. Looking at screenshot, my contract ends in a few days, uh-oh :(

Looks like Max got himself a 1 year extension at Spurs. Also, 1 shot and 1 goal at international level - I'll take that!

1 year extension at Man City.

    Woo.:pac:

Al;though looking at my stats and under 18's appearances, I wont be making a City senior appearance anytime soon. :(

Delighted to see I made it onto the Under 21's Irish team scoring a goal. Signed a new 3yr contract too which is fantastic. Hope I can push on now and make a first team appearance!

Also love my fouls/tackling stats :D

Also WTF re: Wolves 3rd in the Premiership!!!

ASP - for any of those that have FM13 will you be sharing your save game file with us?
