I think the gold coins produced by the central bank are too small, the design is often difficult to make out.
I've bought them all over the last number of years, but don't think I'll bother any more.
I would prefer if they produced a larger, ( and more expensive) gold coin similar to the Shackleton from a few years ago.

I agree with you dursey. With the Michael Collins coins I presume that people bought the silver coin because it is a nice size and weight, you feel like you are getting something for your money. Whereas with the gold coins I always feel disappointed as they are so small and thin. They are more like a piece of shiny foil than a coin.

The gold coins have been gradually getting smaller over the years. A half ounce coin like the Shackleton is a beauty, but a bit expensive for the average collector. I think they should compromise and start producing some bigger coins. Maybe 0.1 Ozt, 0.2 Ozt of 0.25 Ozt.

Agree that they should start increasing the size of the gold coin too, as something to look at they lack the impact of larger coins I think.
