Broken finger sick leave / pay entitlements

    Hi,
My partner broke her finger, and she now has to take a few days, maybe a couple of weeks off. Is she entitled to any payments? I've heard it's 3 days sick pay from your employer and then the social welfare covers time out of work after that. She's been employed there for over 3 yrs. Anyone know the exact details?
    Thanks

She needs to get a social welfare sick cert. They dont pay for the first 3 days.Depending on her contract her employer might pay her wages while she is unfit to work.Get a MC1 from the doctor and send it to the address on the application, this will start her claim and then she will need to send in an MC2 every week while she is off.If she has been employed for the last 3 years full time she should have enough contributions paid to recieve the full allowance of €188 p/w.
