    Hey guys,

So im plannin on getting a nice car in the near future!

I will be looking for a second hand, no real price restraints here.

What do i have in mind?? Well i do like M3's and M5's but thats about as much as i know! I have no knowledge of cars.

Any other recomendations for nice fast comfy cars?

The one warning i did get was to watch out for road tax so if ya can take that into consideration that would be great!

    Thanks for the help

Do you know how at odds those two sentences are?

You have no price restraints, would like a M3 or M5 but your concern is motor tax? Only in Ireland. :D

Seriously, motor tax is the least of your outlets when running the likes of a M3 or M5.

Either accept the tax or limit your choices dramatically, effectively removing most European (or American, Oz, some English stuff etc) cars.

Put in a real budget as clearly you do have price considerations.
Post what age you are and what you currently drive/have driven.
What Mileage you do or MPG requirements?
    Manual or Automatic?
Assumed you have a Full License with some history for NCB?

You are way to vague in the OP, to some people a 2.4litre Toyota Camry is a fast comfortable car. I would consider it a decent taxi but neither fast or especially comfortable.

Well the tax makes a big difference as il be plannin on keeping this for next 10ish years, so 1500 a year is huge difference from 800 tax!

Honda s2000 are looking well with cheapish tax and high performance

If you're limiting yourself to that kind of tax bill, the best you'll probably get is the like of a Focus ST.

Im 32 with 10 years NCB. Currently drive a 2010 gti golf.

Im not restricted by tax, more kind of hoping there was a list of cars that fit into lower tax bracket. The older skylines gtr are getting great review, i check them out and think they are kind of grimey, what is the fuss about?

Theres a peugot that looks like and audi r8 there, any experience with them?

You should already know a fair bit about the s2k, since you bought one 3 years ago...

Naa, you have to go for the V12 in those... Shuts down 11 cylinders in city driving, so emissions only 100g/km... therefore only €160 to tax! Not bad at all for a 572bhp car! And can be gotten for around €44,950 now. Astroturf filter is a weak point in them though...

A bit of haggling would have this in your drive.
