well maybe not that great but i'm happy out. went out with the setter on Saturday enduring the hangover from hell. it's the first time i had the gun with me so i was hoping all was going to go well. . .

anyway she quraterd lovely and got her interest sparked in a big clump of grass that was in the middle of a field of spuds. she set rock solid and slowly moved in closer. she was set solid and the gave the little twitch of her tail and moved in, a cock pheasant popped up and when it had flown out a bit i folded it. she came back to me after the shot but wasn't too nervous just unsure.

on with the hunting and sure enough she locked onto another bird, when this lad got up it caught me off guard coupled with my groggy head i missed it but on the plus side the shot didn't bother the dog. she found three more cocks and a hen over the rest of the day but due to one breaking the far side of the hedge and the other two getting up too quickly i didn't get a shot (she didn't bump them they just got up) but i was chuffed with the day and delighted with the dog.
