I agree, for the last month or so coming off m50 at J13 traffic backed up the hill.

It's always like that and don't forget it x amount of days to Christmas.

How they ever got planning with Dundrum causing that much traffic is beyond me. I personally think the first roundabout (At Wesley) needs to be widened to two proper lanes. The left for turning left exclusively and the right exclusively for all other exits. Given the trees on your left on approach it could easily be widened.

    Coming from leopardstown.

I can go home through sandyford industrial estate but traffic around bewleys is bad.

The road parallel to the m50 northbound is what I take but the past while traffic there has been worse than sandyford!

I agree about the Wesley roundabout. It's so small, with 3 busy roads entering it. It slows everything down unnecessarily.

You're coming from Leopardstown and want to get on to the M50 - what on earth are you doing down at Wesley college?

Traffic around Bewleys is not usually that bad at all.

I don't want to get onto the M50. I live near Dundrum shopping centre.

Ah, ok. That wasn't very clear in your OP - at least not to me anyhow. Can you tell me where in Leopardstown you are coming from exactly?

Also what route are you taking at the moment? (Don't be exact about final destination obviously)

    I work on Brewery Road.

If I'm going to Dundrum I'll usually go into Stillorgan and across Kilmacud Rd, but if I was coming from where you are I wouldn't be too keen on negotiating Brewery Road.

Try this route, I use it sometimes and it never tends to get congested

I am coming from the south county business park.

I come to the roundabout which the Luas goes over, I take a left up past Bewleys hotel. Take a left at the roundabout and go over the M50, and then take right up the leopardstown road. I then take right at the traffic lights, and then take the sliproad on the left to take the road that runs parallel to the M50 northbound.

I then go round the roundabout to the right here, and then take the Ballinteer Road down toward the shopping centre. :)

OK, your problem is Christmas shoppers coming off the M50 at Ballinteer and heading towards Dundrum. Your route is fine apart from that as you are avoiding Sandyford Ind Estate. I would suggest that when you get to the M50 roundabout take the first exit and head down Brehon Field Road until your reach the junction for Ballinteer Avenue where you should turn right. Take this the whole way down to the end (Wesley Roundabout) and take the first exit on to Wyckham Way. ;)

EDIT: blackwhite's route would probably be quicker and easier.

also on a side note but somewhat relevant

Could the retards that come down Ballinteer road queueing for the shopping centre car park on Ballinteer bridge and block the roundabout at the junction with Barton Rd East pls get a brain!

The amount of clowns that do this on any wet Sunday is unreal - no we are not all going the same way as you and yes I am quite entitled to blow my horn and f**k you out of it for blocking the roundabout.

    rant over

if there is one thing the shopping centre has done for Dublin is concentrate the sh1t driving to one street.
