First of all I'm not sure if this is the correct form to be posting in but it's a good place to start.

Id like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction. I'm living in Baldoyle and I have a nostalgic craving for pheasant at the moment.

I grew up in the Carlow/Kildare/Laois area and there was never an issue getting game birds in season (and sometimes out of season!). Up in the big smoke I haven't a clue where to get them. I don't shoot myself and to be honest I don't have the time or the interest to start. Back home the local butcher used to carry game birds or we'd get them off local gun clubs. Can something similar be done in Dublin?

I'd be comfortable doing all the cleaning out and skinning them (never had patience for plucking) myself.

Sorry for the long winded post!

I happened to be out in Howth today and say that one of the fish shops on the pier was selling wild pheasant. I think it was Dorans but can't be sure.
