I am thinking about changing the doctors I go to, the problem however is not with the doctor(s) themselves. My family have been patients at Clayton Hall for about 5 years now and the doctors and staff there are all grand but with two small children I find myself visiting more often these days and the last 3 times I've been, there has been someone causing a scene with the staff there arguing about one thing or another and generally causing an upset, waiting times are stressful and on one occasion I was with my one year old we arrived 10 minutes ahead of our appointed time and were waiting almost 2 hours to be seen. I feel like it has gotten too busy down there, parking is also usually a nightmare.

Part of me would stick it out for the sake of the doctors I have gotten to know but my kids have been upset by the behaviour of certain patients there a couple of times now and part of me also feels this coupled with the waiting times is enough to leave...

    Any thoughts/recommendations welcome.

I use Clayton Hall also so I am somewhat disappointed to hear that the service has gone downhill somewhat. In the past most I had to wait was 10 minutes past my appointment time. Then again last time I went was over 12 months ago (am sure I just jinxed myself saying that)

Anyone bar Dr. Woods - is that his name, he has moved into the new building on the Shamrock Sq. He is the only doctor in the town that I have consistently heard bad things about in the 12 years I have been in Carlow.

I don't the issue will be the recommending of a new GP - I think it will be more of a problem getting accepted by a new practice. This might also depend if you are on a medical card or paying private.
