There is no such thing as a best mod. Each mod has different advantages and you choose which are important to you.

I've used a T8 and it gives excellent noise reduction but they are over 600 grams. Hanging one off the end of a barrel of any decent length can make the rifle more awkward to handle.

There are lighter alternatives with various manufacturers, A-tec have the cmm-4 and the maxim etc. These don't affect rifle handling as much because of the weight reduction but they are not as good at noise reduction imho.

So my advice is to put your request in context. Do you want the best noise reduction possible and to hell with the rifle handling, or do want the least affect on rifle handling and you'll live with whatever noise reduction you can get.

Thanks Vegeta, noise reduction is the object. rifle handling is not an issue, yet anyhow.

T8 should be the way to go.
what should I be paying for such?

    ASE UTRA SL5,

One piece, stainless, roughly 400-ish grammes, adds approx 4 inches.

Available in a host of thread fittings...

Easy maintenance, guaranteed for 10,000 rds.

Expensive but best there is.................... in my humble opinion of course.

ASE UTRA Jet-Z CQB is another runner and not far behind SL5.

    Hi
I am limited to what I am able to say regarding our range of moderators but we now have an export license for Ireland.

Here is one of ours that would be similar to the one we would propose for your 243

For details feel free to contact me

    Hi
They are custom built in either stainless steel or stainless steel and aluminium.
A mod for your 243 in stainless steel would be 38mm dia x 150mm long (135mm in front of the muzzle) and weigh approx 470g.
Price would be €325 plus carriage to an RFD. or they can be purchased through Patrick Carley
Please feel free to have a look at www.onelesscharlie.webs.com

    Thanks for your interest
