Another death on the roads

On Saturday evening last (November 10th 2012) at around 7pm an elderly woman was killed in a road collision outside Dundalk and 2 others were rushed to hospital. However there was nothing mentioned about it on any website or news bulletin.

Why would this be? Even our local station never mentioned it and they would usually cover a fender bender in great detail. Seems odd!

It wasn't mentioned because it was the weekend, and people could not be bothered to report it because it is not from Dublin or other so called important towns.

Yeah completely baffled by the lack of information regarding this road crash, saw emergency lights flashing for hours sat nite & heard the road was still closed on sunday, listened to all the stations, looked on the internet - nothing, zilch not even my work colleagues knew anything about it today, until i found this thread. Another person has lost their life on the roads, tragic but to go unnoticed makes it even sadder.

It was on the 1.00 news on LMFM and they also have it on their website. It says the following:

GARDAI APPEAL FOR WITNESSES TO FATAL CRASH IN LOUTH

    12 November 2012
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road crash in north Louth, at the weekend.
83-year-old Moya McNally of New Road, Bellurgan died after the car she was driving was involved in a two car collision, near the Ballymac filling station on the Dundalk/Carlingford Road shortly before half six on Saturday evening. The road remained closed until yesterday afternoon, so the scene could be examined by Garda forensic collision investigators. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station.

Moya was the sister of Tommy Clarke who was with the Dundalk Group Players. Such a tragedy.
