    If there is going to be any form of takedown used on them I would not go anywhere near Jigsaw unless you want some serious injuries

    Doing boxing Bjj and kickboxing classes is not Mma, who is going to be taking these classes by the way?

    I don't think you're asking me... hope not anyway I'm not involved at all... but why is not MMA? Are ya saying you have to have 'MMA Striking' and such classes specifically to be classed as an MMA club? BJJ, Boxing.. all that is part of it... I'm sure there'll be emphasis on MMA application in those classes but like I say I'm only defending the concept that it would be an MMA club.. a place you train in a Mix of Martial Art classes... maybe I'm wrong

    You are!

    You need MMA classes to be an MMA club-It's MMA Mixed Martial Arts, Not MOMA Mix Of Martial Arts, doing judo and Kickboxing does not make 1 a Mixed Martial Artist-Just like doing Kickboxing does not make 1 a Boxer like many think it does.

    That's what i was wondering after reading this bit;
    we will be teaching boxing Kickboxing bjj trx and anything else people would like to teach

    If people want Muay Thai, wrestling or other forms. How are you going to suddenly include them. Soulds a bit like a "sure, ill give it a go" mentality.

    As a very basic example, say there was no suitable club, so somebody decided to do 1 class a week at a boxing gym, and another at a BJJ club. Neither are MMA orientated.
    The time invested in striking is not totally useless, but it’s not right for MMA. If he performs as he is taught, he’ll be taken down easily with at boxing stance.
    Once down, a lot of the BJJ he learned is useless as the other guy can strike.

    As I said, basic example, but you get my point.

    Not sure if this price is good or bad but I just came across this site. maybe this would be what you need if you haven't got any mats since your original post. As a matter of interest has there ever been a thread here which stated the cheapest place to buy in Ireland or at least get delivered to Ireland. Can't get anything with a search so I'm presuming no, even though there have been a number of post where people have been looking for some. It would be good if possible if people that bought mats stated where and how much :)

    We had jigsaws in our club and swapped to judo mats and they're way better, though you get more grazes from the judo mats they are much better in general.

    I have 6 brand new 1x1m 20mm jigsaw mats if anyone is interested

    25 each for second hand 20mm mats is a bit steep.
    Bout 25 euro for 40mm brand new in most places.
