Triax 212 with Scart cable - less stations

When I reconnected the box with scart they had lost all the bbc channels...still had utv and ch4,e4 etc (monaghan area)...anyone know why this is? Retuned with hdmi cable and all freeview and saorview channels are back?!?

Also is it possible to turn on triax box using hdmi and it automatically cause the tv to recognise which source it is coming from??
