Found it surprising that antidepressants don't work at all for 1 out of 3 patients.

How do you know if a horse is depressed?

Ketamine is a veterinary pain killer/tranqulliser. It's also used by soldiers on the battle field, as the risk of overdose is low. And it's also a party drug.

Party drugs can give you a helluva hangover too.

Which is a reason why it would be safe to make ecstasy legal. Ecstasy, is very much a double entry bookkeeping drug - the comedown let's you know the high didn't come for free.

And if you get really high, it be a bit like what's'his'face, who jumped from outer space......Except you won't have a parachute.

I know they give antidepressants to dogs with behavioural problems.

    Maybe it's different with horses.

A horse walks into a bar. The barman says "Why the long face?"....And the horse says "I'm a horse".

I dunno thought it was pretty interesting that it regenerates synaptic connections, albeit for an extremely limited time. My understanding of biology is practically non existent but if the synaptic connects can be repaired would this not have a huge effect for many other brain 'diseases' dementia parkinson's ?

Wasn't ketamine developed as an anistetic originally ? Bit of a super drug really... Maybe ..... Horses, parties, anti depressant . Hallucinogen as well ??

I'd be interested to know a clinicians opinion on this. I have heard anecdotally, and read some brief mentions in review papers (e.g. uptodate) that ketamine does indeed have an ability to lift extremely low mood. not really certain what role it has in long term treatment.

Probably due to physical conditions rather than chemical imbalances or psychological stress etc.

This isn't always the case, lots of people don't start to get bad comedowns until they have used the drug quite a few times.
