Kia Sorento stopping up on a journey

Hi all, my brother has a 06 Kia Sorento and for the past few months its stopping up in the road for no reason. Its highly dangerous, they'd be driving along and all of a sudden stop dead :eek:. They would have to take out the key, put it back in a off they go again. It might drive for four or five days before it would do…

Hi all, my brother has a 06 Kia Sorento and for the past few months its stopping up in the road for no reason. Its highly dangerous, they'd be driving along and all of a sudden stop dead :eek:. They would have to take out the key, put it back in a off they go again. It might drive for four or five days before it would do it again or sometimes it could stop on the same journey. They have taken it to a KIA Main Dealer and they can't find anything wrong with it. They have a tow bar on it and the light holder was hanging down recently before they got it fixed up. Could a wire in the wiring lum be shortening and interferring with the immobiliser??..... Any suggestions be greatly appreciated.

Had a Prelude that done this to the previous owner, it was a fault in the ignition barrel, might or might not be something to check out.
