    Hi All,
Wondering if anyone has a BMW 320d F30 New Model.
Tracking seems to be out of late, i have 26k kms on it and i have noticed it pulling to the right.
Checked tyres and front and back wearing alot on outside.
Will cost me 160 euro to track at BMW and 30 euro at tyre centre, problem now is that it looks like i will need new tyres for rear.
255 Run Flats which will cost 300 a pair, a bit annoyed with BMW.
    Anyone else experience this?
    Thanks,
    Pete

I'd love to know why you're annoyed at BMW...

Simply because car was never properly tracked when left factory.
Will end up getting new tyres which shud last alot longer.

    How do you figure that?

You said in the OP that the tracking has been out "as of late". What leads you to believe it wasn't right when bought?

How on earth can it be BMW's fault? You have done 26 Thousand kms and its only lately you say the tracking is out. Why didn't you do something about it as soon as it started pulling? You could have hit all manner of potholes in the time since you bought the car and I can be pretty damn sure if the tracking was out from day one you would never have got 26k kms on the tyres.

Its not BMW's fault. The state of our roads have a lot to do with it and also you should have acted sooner.

BMW's are very prone to wearing the inside of the tyres due to their fairly aggressive factory wheel alignment set up with leans towards handling rather then comfort and tyre life. The wear issue is greatly exaggerated if you have the larger 18" or 19" alloys fitted.

If you have the large alloys and/or M pack etc then tyre life will never be any more then you've got as the set up is completely handling biased.

Why bother with Runflats they are too expensive.

Just started pulling now. Brought it to garage and they said tracking was never right due to visible wear on tyres.
    Do u have a f30?

Garage are speculating, youve covered a reasonable distance in the vehicle. You could have knocked the tracking out on the most minor of pot holes after about 4KM.

If it was out as far as you are speculating you should have noticed it. I presume its running Contis ? But then again maybe not. Runflats are rubbish so change them now while you are at it.

No, put a spare in your boot like a normal person. Those cans of stuff are a waste of time. The only reason i have one is because the M3 has no spare wheel well. One of my pet hates.

Alot of BMWs don't have a tyre well in the boot for a spare wheel these days. Mine doesn't anyway so it's sitting in the boot.

I kind of agree with you & disagree at the same time.
I have 3 BMs, all Sports (not ///M unfortunately :(), one with 19's runflats and the only time I've seen abnormal wear is when suspension components are worn out. I've had one of them 12 years, the other 7 years & the one with 19s for 18 months (managed to put >25k kms on that car in that time & tyres are still fine, evenly worn, etc.)
The type of driving you do can influence the tyre wear too, predominance of high speed v low speed driving can cause different wear patterns for example. It is very easy to put the alignment out by hitting a kerb, pot hole or rut in the road.
I've had all the cars tracked at the main dealer over the years, I had issues getting it done at various tyre centres, maybe I was just unlucky.

Well neither of those will be E90/91/92 or F30 models which are the ones which suffer the wear issues.

What model is the one you have 18 months?
