i have one and am very happy with it. no melting wires or switches, not to heavy or awkward on the rifle. have a 100w bulb in it with no issues. some people with the equiv lightforce lamp say the wildhunter is cheaper crap, but the same people are later looking for connections and switches and rewiring their lightforce. i've given the wildhunter alot of rifle time and some extra use when i'm out herding the cattle and have not once had a problem.

    good quality+good value= good light.

prefer a lightforce any day.... yes there more expensive and give a wiring problem... the wiring problem is solved easily with a few cheap connections from a motor factors and after that you have a lamp that will last you forever and perform

when i started off lamping first i had all the crap from draper lamps to god knows what else and they all worked and spotted eyes etc
but like buying scopes etc ya pay for what ya get and for not much more than the wildhunter lamp you will get the lightforce lamp and never look back once that bad connection problem is solved

i've compared both WH170 and LF170 against each other. i could not see any difference between them as far as range and recognising your target.

the only one difference i could see was that the WH gave off a kind of a slight yellow tint in the light(very slight), whereas the LF gave of a clear white light.

the difference wasn't enough to justify the extra 50euro at the time.

best thing for ya is to try and view one against the other.

I think that might have been the shop I was in a few weeks ago...
Stuff on the website seems good value.

Bought one of these Wildhunter45 for an old set of active IR NV binos.
Works exellent in that role with an IR cover.
However,it does generate a fair amount of IR heat behind the cover, but nothing that the wiring, which looks pretty HD ,as does the switch,[ compared to some POS out there.] cant handle.Have run it continously for 30mins with no trouble sofar in the NV role with no smells of melting plastic.:pac:
For what it is ,it seems to be a good little bit of kit.
