Whats the minimum spec I'd need?

I know an i3 would do but budget wouldn't really stretch and don't know much about chips under i3 spec, never used any of them.

Anything under Core i3 is not for smooth 1080p.

    What's you budget?

An AMD Apu may be best if your budget is small.

You can play 1080p with AMD APU and Pentiums but one video at the time. Actually AMD is better is in that matter.

But these budget processors are useless in multi-tasking. Especially when they are coupled with slow HDD and outdated chipset.

You can buy Pentium or AMD laptop for €300-400 and add SSD or hybrid disk but then total price is ~€500 and for that money you rather want to buy Core i3 or i5 although you get slow HDD.

HDD and RAM you can upgrade the next year if things start to look sluggish. Processor upgrade doesn't make sense in laptops unless you are working for Intel or AMD and you get inside house bargains etc.

Anyone use one of them, any good, budget only like €350.

One of them and 4GB RAM, be ok for a few years? 1080p?

Ok I see your budget doesn't give Core processors. Then it's Pentium over Celeron (higher clocks).

This Asus X401A was €430 for a few weeks, now it's €360 and it comes with Pentium B970 2.3Ghz.

Comes also in pink and white colors.

Good price! Props for 14 inch screen and only 2.1Kg weight.

Watch out they don't give you X401A with Celeron processor by mistake (€30 cheaper) - you can double check that from the sticker on outer packaging before paying..

    No CD burner tho!
