I'm looking to buy a cheapish saorview/Freeview HD box for an older freeview telly.
Seen this in D.I.D and wondering if anyone here has it or any experience with it as to how good or bad it is.

Notice it has pvr function but one or two not great comments about that here but its something i might never use.
    Any comments welcome. Cheers

No, it's got a Recording feature. No internal HDD.

It's a half baked solution. Either spend less on a single tuner box or more on a real PVR.

The Triax 212 is fine. The box is alot more responsive than its previous saorview model - 112. One other difference is that the 212 remote is very light, even a bit flimsy. (Plus the 212 is not saorview approved yet but should be.)

The other feature with the 212 is that you can record on one channel while watching another on a USB stick/external HDD. I think with all the other saorview boxes at the moment, you can only record the programme you are watching.

The only other saorview box I have used is a Walker. €20 cheaper and works just aswell. The remote is more robust too.

Though I found the 212 works better off a low signal/reception - on the same TV, the Walker couldn't even scan in the channels. Someone in Walker told me that their boxes need signal strength/quality over 75%.

The TR212 has saorview logo build into backscreen when changing channel and has a dual tuner so will definetly be a better buy in opinion, especially for recording features when the second mux is enabled. Its predessor could record whilst you watched another channel despite what previous poster posted however it will no longer work when second mux comes into play hence why Id prefer the TR212.

The TR212 also plays a load of extra video formats than its predessor.

Was just about to post the same thing.
Very close to buying one but had another look up on it.
From what i found it only has a DVB-T tuner (unless anyone can prove otherwise) which wont pick up Freeview HD.

    DVB-T only, not DVB-T2.
