Not just happened to see on the news, but consciously made an effort to watch live. I'm not a big royal family fan or anything but I just thought this is a piece of history that my grandkids will probably ask me about.

So what was the last funeral that you consciously made an effort to watch?

    I'm watching something right now.

In answer to the OPs question, I watched Benazir Bhuttos funeral.

Flew Shannon to Chicago with royal Jordanian air just after king Husseins death. Had to endure about 5 hours of the funeral on every screen!! Well it was either that or the rug rats in Arabic!!!

I was woken up at 4am to be told Princess Di was after dying and watching and genuinely realising it was a piece of history (after some hours). It was far from being a "spectacle" as one poster said. That was my personal rememberance (as probably towards many) of remembering where they were, especially seeing the funeral taking place.

Well, I'm not sure what it's referred to as in that part of the world. It's certainly one death that had an impact on me. Don't know why.

EDIT: Just saw your bolded text now! It's "Inglorious Basterds". So yes, kind of!

    What the what??
I've been to my mother's funeral, and a guy I used to go out with's, that was enough for me!
Why the fcuk would you watch a funeral on tv??
You don't know them - what would the point be?
And if you did know them, surely you'd be there in person.
I didn't even know they aired funerals on telly!

Some churches now broadcast funerals on line, (weddings, masses etc are also broadcast)
Princess Diana was one I watched but wouldnr exactly be uplifting, entertaining tv

I remember I watched a clip from Jamie Bulgers funeral, It was absolutely heartbreaking. I remember Diana's too.I don't think funerals should be televised though, they should be a private affair.
