I think this could be the way forward for MotoGP. I know Honda are threatening to pull out if it's brought in but would they really be that much of a loss if other teams such as BMW and Aprilia came on board? MOTOGP has some of the biggest tv viewership figures in the world and I think that no matter what happens Honda will want to have some of that publicity.

The present system isn't working with only 3 factory teams competing and the band aid that is CRT is really only there to fill out the grid.

    Any thoughts?

It will change when the factories start to build customer engines and bikes.
Yamaha are already talking about engine packages and HRC about selling customer RCV bikes, albeit lower spec valvetrain and electronics.
They need to go back to a formula which emphasises rider skill not electronics wizardry.
Its simple, make sure that available horsepower always exceeds grip and you'll have riders that can do more than just turn in laps within 1000th of a second each lap.
The 990's were examples of this before the electronics side of it took off and killed the spectacle.
Pedrosa couldn't handle them, he just wasn't big enough, you need to be more than 49kg to ride one.
