    Theres plenty of activity in Dublin . Theres courses run in DCU, If you check out the links on http://sthoeelifeguardsdublin.blogspot.ie/ they have email addresses of people you can talk to.

    I am pretty sure that the Rlss is reconsigned over in america, as I am working there next summer, for a summer camp and I will be lifeguarding and teaching. However if you are thinking about beach lifeguarding over in the states, the councils over there make you do a series of tests, and then if you are selected, you have to do a two week course with the lifeguards over there, whether you have a qualification or not.

    Both IWS and RLSS are internationally recognised.
    Check out the international lifesaving federation, its an organisation where worldwide lifesaving organisations try to ensure that all qualifications are to the same standard around the work
