return my jeep

    I swapped my jeep for a soft top classic BMW. The owner of the jeep assured me the soft top had no leaks. I relied on the honesty of this information before exchanging. No mechanic check would have picked up the leaks unless it was put through a car wash!! The honesty of the guy was paramount. We had a wet summer, the first storm my BMW was flooded. When I contacted the owner to return my jeep he slammed the phone down. I then emailed both him and his partner two nice emails only to receive what I would consider a threatening call.My mechanic informed me its not a BMW roof and it dosn't even fit the car therefore I cant replace the seals. The guy insists the soft top roof is BMW. Its irrelevant to me what kind of roof it is....Its leaking!!!! Im now driving a car which resembles something from CSI with permanent duck tape round the windows to keep the rain out.
    I have started a peaceful protest outside his business on Pembroke Road Dublin.

    If you have receipts for the car you swapped for the car you now have, I would suggest you seek a solicitor and see if you have a leg to stand on and then go from there.

    Also not sure its allowed to name and shame as it could be seen as slander or defamation....

    And a quick google lets me see its not even a car dealership, wtf OP swapping a car with some randomer, really, REALLY....

    I seriously think this is more a case of learn your lesson, in future go to a dealership or if your doing a buy and sell bring a machanic with you but swapping a car COME ON

    This is a civil and legal matter. Not appropriate for PI. I'm sure this thread will be locked.

    Sure every day Apple, Vodafone and especially UPC get lashed on boards.
    And many others

    But if you talk about a dodgy small business in Ireland it gets swiftly locked :confused:

    That's cos big companies know the law and have lawyers,while small companies just threaten to sue at a drop of a hat or name.

    No it wasnt a dealer, it was a guy who had his car for sale on the internet I swapped with.

    OP, get legal advice and/or try consumer issues.

    Everyone else, you know well what PI is for, and that is not for discussion or complaints about moderation. Report posts in future if you have a problem with them.
