I have some small scratches on my RBZ 3 Wood and Driver.

I've done some googling to try repair these and most places point at car white touch-up paint. Not sure if I wanna risk that.

Anyone touched up their club heads successfully or can anyone offer some advice?

I bought 3 of these recently in Halfords.
    Got white, black and red.
Get yourself some masking tape if you have a few to do and they are near the face.
Also get yourself some rubbing compound as you will need to effectively "sand" down what you fill as it will not be at the same level. Also note that you dont need to get it perfect as most of the time it will be 3/4 feet away from you.

this is what I got. It has a thin brush but also a nib like a pen, which I found very useful.

Less is more, as the more you put on the more you will need to sand off. For deep scratches/chips I would layer it.

    Good luck.

Thanks Greebo I'll give that a go.

What is the rubbing compound and do Halfords have that too?

yeah this is the one I got, but they have others.
You dont need very much. Basically its a slightly abrasive paste that will remove overspray without damaging the existing paint finish. I actually found it polished my clubs quite well.

If the above does not work give me a shout. I have matt white & gloss aerosol paint that I have used before to repaint whole heads and sky marks. My advice is take your time and everything can be redone if your not happy with the finish.

I heard T-Cut did a great job on white heads for minor sky marks and such like

Yes they do deliver to Ireland. Got paint off them and it was delivered very quickly and was a perfect match.

They don't have the RBZ model advertised. I'll just stick to the Halfords paint and complete it that way I reckon.

Pretty interesting thread, a nice way to spruce up the old battered looking driver I have. Going to have a crack off repainting it matt black. Will let ye know how it goes, same principles apply to filling the sky marks. Just mask all around it

After a quick look through the thread some of the pictures are real nice. Especially like the matt black Titleist 910's. The guy with the blue Taylormade Superfast needs his head examined though.... Crazy yanks

Had a go at repainting the Ping G15, pretty happy how it turned out. Head is fractionally heavier than before. Sanded off the old paint with scotchbrite and i was a bit worried but I'd definitely do it again

Hmmm, the ould fella is a car spray painter. Could be tempted to go all Bubba on my R9 Driver, or perhaps Poulters Ferrari driver. Never thought about asking him to do it until i read this.

Hey GreeBo I have those items and I'm gonna give it a go this evening. One question though; should I wait until the touch-up paint dries before using the cutting compound?

    Cheers

Yeah you want to let it dry fully otherwise you will just start smudging it and have to redo it all (after removing it all)

    Good luck!
