Tesco Mobile are doing a triple credit for life promotion. Normally its double credit. Only requirement is that you have to bring your number with you from your current network.

    Promotion expires on Dec 20th

The t&cs are worth checking to make sure it suits what you want:

    - bonus credit can't be used for international calls or texts
    - bonus credit only awarded if you top up by min of €10
    - expires after 30 days.

The triple credit offer is only available to the first 5000 who switch over.

Tesco Mobile UK have been giving their prepay customers 'triple' bonus credit for some time.

Bonus credit cannot be used for data add ons either. It is basically restricted to domestic calls and texts for 30 days.

So if I top up by 10 euro you get 30 euro credit.
I presume I can get the 1gb data add on for 6.99 so that leaves 23 euro for calls.
So for 10 euro you get the 1gb add on and 23 euro phone credit ,seems good.

I think the terms and conditions has a comma in the wrong place. The double credit allows GPRS browsing at regular rates, but you can’t buy a data add on. There should be no comma between data and add-ons, if the triple credit terms are the same:
The following exclusions apply to your use of Bonus credit: non-geographic, international, roaming, premium calls texts or data, Add-ons or bundles.

Yeah just checked it can be used for data at regular rates ...
You can use your Bonus credit in the same way as our DOUBLE credit priceplan, for things such as mobile data, calls and texts to standard Republic of Ireland mobile and landlines.

Bit of a pisser that they won't give it to established customers.

To avail of this, an existing customer would have to get a SIM from another network and port it over, meaning a change of number....

Or - switch to another provider from Tesco, then port back. Wonder would this work?

    Not your ornery onager

they obviously don't want it to impact on their current income coming in

but yes, bad that they don't do something for their customers

silly that they restrict the use of the top up credit, just too confusing

Lycamobile still beats this offer. A €10 topup with Tesco Triple credit would give €30 credit. At 20c per minute, thats 150 mins of calls for €10, with no texts or data, you do get 250 web texts.

Compare that with Lycamobile's double top up offer and bundle. You'd get 350 mins, unlimited texts and data for a €10 topup. Buying the €19 bundle.

I'd very wary with Tescomobile these days. If used mainly international calls you could run into troubles: calls get stuck on network and you pay for it or connected to a wrong number not the one you typed in.
