My husband has a Nikon dslr. The problem he is having is that a mark is appearing on the photos and despite cleaning the lenses and buying a mirror and filter cleaning kit, the mark is still appearing. Has anyone come across this problem before and can help? :)

is the mark in the same position on each photo taken?

sounds a bit like a dust spot on the sensor (not the mirror or lens). if so, a rocket blower may shift it. You could pick one up in a decent camera store or on flea bay (think mine cost about €10 online).

if that doesn't shift it for you, then you can leave it into the same decent camera stores for a clean.

I'd try the rocket blower first though. You'll need one at some stage anyhow so it will be money well spent.

    Don't worry - it doesn't sound fatal :)

Thanks will try that - its just spoilt photos of a recent family wedding - by the way do you know of a way to lessen the mark on these photos or is that not possible?

You might be able to clone out the mark using a photo editor, depending. This is effectively copying a small bit of next door sky, wall or whatever to paste over the offending mark. It might be noticeable, might not, it all depends.

Try it with a copy of the photograph (so you don't lose the original!) using Picasa (free), or GIMP (also free, but a little less easy to use than Picasa), or Photoshop if you have it.

If you could post a sample image we would be better able to judge.
