Car disposal

My long suffering 98 carisma finally needs putting down. I said Id never get rid of it until I had to, but enough is enough and it cant go on. My question is where does it go now? It will still move under it's power although the smell would choke you and sounds like a piano falling downstairs. Anyone know if there is there somewhere I can try to drive it too or do I have to pay to get it carted away? It would be worth something in raw materials if I could reduce it to its constituent elements...

You need to get it taken away, sometimes scrappies will do it for free sometimes even pay you a nominal amount. You need a waste license these days to deal with the various oils, coolants and mechanical scrap, the value of the constituent parts will go towards making it worthwhile for the scrappie to deal with it for you.

Check your local paper for classifieds or maybe Autotrader?

Cheers Cedrus, makes sense but if I cant recycle myself I like the sound of a nominal fee. Id take a penny! to be sentimental I dont think the aul girl would like to be a burden.

Ring around a few local scrap yards as it has a scrap value on it.
