Different Engine in Car

    Hey,
    Im interested in a car on donedeal, its listed as a 1.6, but when i try get an insurance quote and put in the reg its listed as a 1.8, any advice?...insurance?..i havent rang the ad yet was just curious...thanks

    Could be a typo, could be that they swapped the engine but never got an engineer's report.
    Call and ask?

    I'd take the information on an advert with a pinch of salt when it comes to accuracy. Some sellers are just clueless with these sort of things.

    Motorcheck shows that reg as 1.8 also. First of all ask the owner why they have it down as 1.6 when the reg shows it is 1.8. Was the engine replaced or something more sinister going on here?
