    Hi all,

Anyone know what the story is with all the low flying aircraft during the day and evening?? It's going on quite a while and I'm just wondering if anyone is involved or aware of it. We're in the Kildare area, north Kildare .ie. naas, sallins, newbridge etc :). We're really curious as to what it is :)

It's the new revenue jet. It's scanning the countryside for any dwellings that haven't paid the household tax.

Paint your roofs green quick if you haven't paid up!

Yep, the Air Corps. It's the season for the night flying training. In flying terms that area is really close to Baldonnel. It'll all end soon enough, don't worry.

Thanks, ah im not worried about it it doesnt even bother me, it was more curiosity cause i never actually see it I always miss it, I know the chopper at night has de infa-red on looking - i presume for drug farms. The plane does sound so low at times I wait ( i know terrible to say) for it to crash it sounds like a plane losing control so i hear it and brace myself, i just never noticed it before.

Drug farms? Wow things have changed around Kildare since I was there last!

While it's possible it's a bit unlikely. Just imagine how much it would cost for helicopters to be up searching every house in every estate in Ireland to see if they they're growing weed in the attic? No it's just the Air Corps night flying.

They do have a spyplane of sorts which can go high. You wouldn't even hear it! I could tell you more but the last time I mentioned something like this my post was removed by the moderator of the military forum in case I was releasing sensitive operational information.

As if I knew anything secret! Have to go now there's a car with blacked out windows sitting across the street all morning. Bit suspicious that!
