Airport Security question

    Hi there,

hope this is in the right section.

I'm travelling with a group in a couple of weeks from Cork to the Canaries. the flight is at 7am, check-in from 5am. By the time we arrive to the hotel between flights, transfers etc it is going to be mid afternoon. I was wondering what the situation is regarding bringing food through airport security, i'm thinking maybe a subway footlong for the flight, not too inclined to be ordering a half stale sandwich on the plane.

Also, does anyone know the Red Bar in cork airport's opening hours? been ringing the contact number all week and getting no answer to find out if we could have a bevvie to begin before we check in.

    thanks

If subway is open at 5am I don't think they should have an issue.

You could always buy food/sandwiches airside before boarding?

Or, as Bearcat alludes to, your Subway fare will probably more stale than anything you get on the aircraft by the time you get to eat it!

If its an early morning flight, surely all the food would be put onto it fresh?

Also, there is a bargain alert over in the bargain forum where boots airside are doing a sandwich, drink, chocolate and maybe crisps for €3.99.

    Check it out.

You can take sandwiches through security , make your own better than subway crap . As for the red bar I don't think it's open early but the bar at the boarding gates is open very early and you can get a nice mini breakfast there too ,better to check in early then have a relaxing drink while you wait for the gate to open.
