Ferguson Ariva 150 sound but no picture for RTE +1

    Hi
    We have 2 Ferguson Ariva 150 boxes. Since we got them installed end of August we are constantly loosing the picture for RTE +1 and RTE Junior but have the sound. This has happened on both boxes but at different times since August. If I do a terrestrial manual scan I get the picture back but the next day the same thing will happen. I am finding this box to extremely unreliable as every week there seems to be something else wrong with it. Does anybody have any idea why this keeps happening to us. Also we don't seem to have BBC3 even after doing a full scan. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

    I have a Sagem box that does'nt even pick up RTE1+1 even after a rescan, but receives RTE jr fine.

    This is to do with the way RTE transmits these two channels . Although they share the same channel for some bizarre reason RTE alter the transmission parameters between the day and night time transmissions . It is possible to work around this if you are lucky enough to be in an area that is covered by two saorview transmitters or alternatively you can use the ariva editor to manually alter the pid settings on a channel file. Someone posted a while back as to what the settings were but I'm unable to find the particular post right now I'm afraid .

    Is this just a problem with the Ferguson Ariva because its not Saorview approved or does it happen with Saorview approved boxes as well?

    As far as I know it does not happen with approved boxes but the problem is not specific to the ferguson , it affects many generic boxes .
