    like the title says...

wtf, firstly i wouldnt want one and secondly why with taxpayers money?

i'm sure there are better things to be done with the money, although small in the grand scheme of things, all these 'small' amounts add up

    anybody care to comment? :)

There's a link about the Senate cards, but it doesn't mention the amount (which is a bit odd).

If they really want to send seasons greetings, let them send out a newsletter to everyone and along with that, detail what they have been doing in government on behalf of the constituency which elected him.

I do find it funny that a Fianna Fail politican would rush to defend them though, anything that is wasteful will be protected and lauded by FF.

This comes up every year and just like most other topics relating to TD's and spending money: they will not listen and they will not change.

I find it funny a Senator is the one arguing against a waste of tax payers money. I mean he's right but lets hope he tries to get rid of the senate next..

My mother in law worked as an assistant of a well known TD until he retired at the last election, the christmas before he sent 5 thousand cards out.

Used to get them every year from Ivor Callelly.

One year we got a lovely picture of his family posing on the LUAS.

Even if the cards are free it's still a waste of paper. Send an e-mail instead or better yet, nothing at all!
