    Hi All,
Looking for some advice please. I've been on Jobseekers benefit since March. I'm currently 7 months pregnant and am having some complications. After a check up with my doctor today he has deemed me unfit for work.
I know I'll need to inform my SW office of my change in circumstances and get switched to illness benefit but main concern though is will I be waiting weeks for illness benefit claim to be approved whilst my JSB is stopped? I'm concerned about being penniless in the run up to Xmas and also the expense of our impending arrival. Has anyone been in a similar situation. Thanks for reading and all advice appreciated!

Go to your Community Welfare Officer, you should be able to get swo from him.

    Best of luck :)

Meant to also say yes its your doc NOT cwo that does illness benefit forms and you don't need to inform swo either they see it on their system as both are sw payments

You will however need to go to your doc weekly to get this form stamped and signed and send it freepost to address on form, if you don't do this you don't get paid

My hubby went from working to illness benefit (heart attacks) and it took a few weeks to come through. That was 2008 though. He got a few payments from the cwo.

Anyway, if thats not the case now, Im glad :)

EDIT: Just thought, maybe the forms had not been sorted from Doc.

    Ignore everything I said.
