Tried them years ago when in dairying, big calves no trouble calving but grew into huge frames that you could be trying to finish for ever.

There's a guy up in Mayo breeding them. I saw him on some tv programme a while back.
I wonder are the exporters to Italy interested in them?

It was "Vets on Call" . (A great programme)

While farming has certainly changed in the West of Ireland, with more farmers leaving dairy farming by the month, the Garretts of Rathmaccostello are determined not to give up on this lifestyle just yet. They have invested in the Italian breed of Romagnola cattle and hope to export them back into the lucrative Italian beef market. It’s a chance Joe Garrett is willing to take as we see him negotiate his way through the Emilia Romagna region of Italy, on the lookout for new bloodlines to bring home to his herd.

have bought some up and down through the years. agree with other posters about them growing, but at the end of the day you are paid by weight primarily.never had any problem getting them fit to kill and always under 30 months.regularly got them to 450 +kilos
